I’ve decided to change the way I organise these.  Instead of having set dates which often don’t suit a lot of people, I’ll organise workshops on request for as few as two people at very reasonable rates.  And if there’s only one of you then let me have your details with your available dates and I’ll try to match you up with someone else who wants the same workshop.

I can offer the following options:

Digital Photography for the Technically Challenged (Beginners) – a gentle, jargon-free introduction to your camera, its settings, and how to use them, aimed at complete beginners

Digital Photography for the Technically Challenged (Improvers) – aimed at consolidating the knowledge you already have, and adding some new learning – for those who know a few things but would like to know more.

Details: £49 per person, minimum two.  I keep numbers to a maximum of 6 so that everyone gets plenty of help and attention and workshops will usually be held in Newark, although I may be able to hold them elsewhere if requested.   For 4 – 6 people they’ll typically run from 10:00am to 4:00pm, but for 2 – 3 people they’ll be an hour or two shorter as fewer people means we can move through the material a bit more quickly.

These workshops are designed for DSLRs/CSCs/high-end compacts – you’re welcome to come along with a point-and-shoot, and you’ll learn lots more about how to use it, but there will be parts of the workshop that won’t apply to your camera.  If you feel you need some advice about the right workshop for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Do you make and sell arts or crafts?  Do you have an online shop?  Or perhaps a bricks and mortar one?  And do you wish you could take better shots of your products?

I offer a product photography session where I can give you loads of hints and tips for better photos and help you understand how to light your products using readily available household lighting and supplies.   These are customised sessions where we’ll look specifically at your particular products, art, or craft, and during which you’ll learn how to take great shots that show them off to advantage.

Details: £75 for a 2-3 hour session, to be held at a location of your choice (normally your shop or studio).  There may be a small extra charge for travelling expenses if you’re located more than 5 miles from Newark.

I am able to supply bespoke courses and workshops for groups of people, whether these are private individuals or corporate groups. These can be tailor-made to suit your requirements – please contact me to discuss your needs.

I’m also happy to travel to other parts of the UK to hold a workshop for you. My charges would include travel expenses and – if necessary – overnight accommodation. Please get in touch with me and once we’ve discussed your requirements I’ll send you a quote.

Stuck for what to get the person who has everything?

A Gift Voucher for personal tuition, a photowalk or a workshop could be the answer. I’ll supply you with an attractive Gift Voucher and card, valid for one year from the date of issue.
