Between the Dee and the deep blue sea

This collection of shots was taken from both sides of the Dee Estuary – the beach at West Kirby, on the Wirral Peninsula, and Talacre Beach on the North Wales Coast, which are almost opposite each other on either side of the estuary. It’s an open, empty, windswept, expansive space where the sea disappears beyond sight when the tide’s out and the sky seems huge. The West Kirby side of the estuary is highly populated compared to the Talacre Beach side, but both have that same feeling of expansiveness.
